On March 18, 2020, we will convene a meeting of the Commission, COVID-19: Forewarned, But Not Forearmed, to better understand the ongoing response to novel coronavirus 2019, national readiness to address the spread of the disease in the United States and throughout the world, and implications for improving defense against the next biological threat.

Speakers will share their perspectives, experiences, challenges, and recommended solutions with regard to the public and private sector response to COVID-19.

MEETING UPDATE: Considering the spread of the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic to the United States and cases beginning to appear in the DC metropolitan area, the Commission is cancelling its meeting, COVID-19: Forewarned But Not Forearmed. The event will no longer be taking place and there will not be a webcast.

The Commission is paying close attention to the ability of the US biodefense enterprise to respond to COVID-19, especially through the lens of our National Blueprint for Biodefense. We will address the implications for dealing with future biological events at another time.

Thank you for your support.
